FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad
(MARC) joined hands with several institutions in support of Sekolah Kebangsaan
Bukit Lanjan (Asli)’s “Gotong Royong Perdana PIBG” project held last Saturday,
8 March 2014.
Fifteen of MARC’s staff and family members collaborated with members of
Battalion 1 of the Askar Wataniah, Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan
Kampung Orang Asli (JKKKOA), SK Bukit Lanjan’s Parent-Teacher Association, and
the Sports Club of Yayasan MK Land to spruce up the environs of the Orang Asli primary
school. In addition to MARC’s sponsorship of paint and miscellaneous painting
equipment for six classrooms, MARC staff contributed their time and energy as
they got down to work on giving one of the classrooms a fresh coat of paint.
The rating agency also donated a wide selection of children’s reading
materials and pasteurised milk to help instil wholesome and well-rounded
development in the school’s students. Battalion 1 of the Askar Wataniah also
received MARC T-shirts as a token of appreciation for their valuable
contributions towards upholding the country’s security.
SK Bukit Lanjan (Asli), located in Bandar Damansara Perdana, is headed by
En. Khairul Anuar bin Abd. Azid. The 64-year-old school, established in 1950 at
Batu 11, Jalan Damansara with just 40 Orang Asli Temuan children, has since
more than tripled its enrolment with a current headcount of about 140 students.
It aims to be the school that best caters for the needs of the Orang Asli
community in the state of Selangor by the year 2017.
